Very narrow aisle racking (VNA Racking) is a kind of storage
racking, mainly composed of columns, beams, cross braces, diagonal
braces, rails, etc. Because the forklift handling aisle of the
racking system is narrow, usually around 1600mm-2000mm, so it is
called narrow aisle or narrow aisle racking.
Feature:
1.Narrow Aisles: VNA racking systems are designed with aisles that
are significantly narrower than those used in traditional selective
racking systems. These aisles typically range from 1.6 to 2.0
meters (5 to 6.5 feet) wide, allowing more racking to be installed
in the same area.
2.Specialized Forklifts: VNA racking requires the use of
specialized forklifts, often called VNA trucks or turret trucks.
These forklifts are designed to operate in narrow aisles and have
the ability to articulate or rotate the forks to pick or place
pallets without turning the entire vehicle.
3.Guidance Systems: Due to the narrow aisles, VNA racking systems
often incorporate guidance systems to assist forklift operators in
navigating the aisles safely and accurately. These guidance systems
can include wire guidance, rail guidance, or even laser-guided
systems.
4.High Density: VNA racking systems are known for their high
storage density. By utilizing the vertical space effectively, they
can store a large number of pallets in a relatively small
footprint. This makes them suitable for facilities with high
inventory turnover or limited floor space.
