Racking System
Pallet flow racking is a type of storage system that utilizes
inclined roller or wheel tracks to facilitate the movement of
pallets within a racking structure. It is designed to improve
storage density and enhance order picking efficiency.
In a pallet flow racking system, the racks are configured with
multiple inclined lanes. Each lane consists of rollers or wheels
set at a decline, allowing pallets to flow smoothly from the
loading end to the unloading end by gravity. The pallets are loaded
onto the higher end of the rack, and as one pallet is removed from
the picking face at the lower end, the next pallet in line moves
forward automatically.
Pallet flow racking is commonly used in distribution centers,
warehouses, and industries where a large volume of goods needs to
be stored and picked efficiently. It is particularly beneficial for
perishable goods, fast-moving inventory, and environments with high
turnover rates.
